Overview

Pitcairn Islands are a volcanic island group in the southeast. Pacific Ocean, east of French Polynesia, covering 27 sq. kms. Only the main island of Pitcairn is inhabited. Now a UK Dependent Territory governed by the High Commissioner in NZ. The island produces postage stamps, tropical and subtropical crops, crafts and forestry.

The climate is equable, average temperatures vary little between 24°C in January and 19°C in July. Adequate annual rainfall.
