Overview

Poland is located in northeastern central Europe and is mostly low-lying with swamps and sand dunes along the Baltic coastline. The population is fairly evenly distributed. Over half the country is arable land.

The climate is continental with some oceanic influences. The summers are hot, the winters severe. Temperatures drop well below freezing in winter (average minus 4°C) and rise to 19°C in July.
