Post-cyclone measures in Fiji to avoid outbreaks

Cyclone Mona veered to the east of the main islands this week but the near-miss did result in some flooding, so authorities have plans underway to prevent disease outbreaks. According to one news source, the government is ‘strongly advising people to boil drinking water, practice good hygiene habits and ensure their homes, compounds and surroundings to be clean’.
