Schistosomiasis is a parasitic disease that affects more than 200 million individuals across the globe but is most prevalent in African populations. Praziquantel, an effective treatment for schistosomiasis, is currently only offered to school-aged children and above, leaving pre-schoolers vulnerable to infection. After more than 10 years in development, a praziquantel pill for pre-schoolers is close to release.
